Professional Water Damage Services
Water damage may seem small, but it can lead to serious and expensive issues throughout your home. Most water damage can be catagorized under these three categories: Clean water damage, grey water damage, or black water damage.
Clean water damage: This is the least severe water damage based on the IICRC scale. This water damage includes broken pipes or water supply lines, bathtubs or sinks that have overflowed, as well as appliance issues. It is considered to be less severe due to the water being "clean", meaning it is sewage and toxin free. Most incidents in this category can be easily dried and don't typically cause issues later on for the property owner.
Grey water damage: Grey water is water from toilets, sump pump backups, and washing machines. This water may or may not be harmful when coming into contact with it. This means it is important to remove any items affected and disinfect them properly. The chemicals found in grey water may prove to be harmful in the future if not properly taken care of.
Black water damage: Black water damage is the most critical type of water damage. Action should be taken immediately to mitigate serious health risks. Black water includes sewage, flood waters, seawater, and river and ground water. When this category of water damage occurs, most items and materials will need to be removed from the property, and after drying has occurred your home will need to undergo significant disinfecting.
